For this trip, you must be at least 25 years old and have held a valid driver's license for at least 2 years to drive a car.
Our roadbook contains all the information you need for a successful tour of Scotland.
It includes a complete route, featuring all the best places to visit in Scotland (Isle of Skye, Glen Etive, Lomond…) and hidden gems you won’t find in major travel guides. The places we recommend are always suggestions, you can choose which sights to visit and how much time to spend at each.
Our roadbook also includes plenty of great spots where you can eat or drink.
Our food pack contains freeze-dried meals to which you just need to add hot water, as well as ingredients for cooking your own meals.
We offer both a regular and a vegetarian version, each providing 3 meals per person per day for the entire duration of your 7-day road trip.
Please note that the food pack is not suitable for people with allergies or strict diets, as it may contain traces of peanuts, gluten, and other allergens.
Scotland Nomads is specifically designed for groups of 2 or 3 people.
If you’re a group of 3, we provide an extra ground tent and camping gear (mattress, sleeping bag, and pillow) since the rooftop tent is only spacious enough for 2 people.
Want to join with more than 3 people? That’s possible, but you’ll need to split into smaller groups. Each group must register separately and will be assigned its own car.
Feel free to contact us in advance so we can check availability for your group.
Our road trip is unfortunately not designed for solo travelers, mainly because of the long distances to cover. That's why we recommend traveling with at least 2 people.
Additionally, prices are always calculated based on 2 people. It is possible to do the road trip alone, but in that case, you will have to pay double the base price.
Yes, absolutely. You can travel with one child, as long as your group does not exceed 3 people per vehicle. This is the maximum we recommend to keep the trip comfortable, especially with all the camping equipment provided.
If you are travelling as a group of 3 and your child is over 8 years old, we will provide an extra ground tent. If your child is younger, they can sleep with you in the rooftop tent or in the campervan.
If you are travelling with a younger child, you are also entitled to an additional discount. Just send us an email to request it.
If you would like to travel with 2 children or more, you will need to book 2 vehicles. With all the camping equipment included, travelling with more than 3 people in one vehicle would unfortunately not be comfortable.
Within 5 days of your registration, you will need to pay a 35% deposit to confirm your trip. After that, you have until 45 days before departure to modify your options and pay the remaining balance. If you change your options, the total amount will be recalculated automatically.
If you haven't opted for damage coverage, you'll also need to pay a deposit before departure (more info in the insurance section).
There are different payment options available. Did your payment fail? It’s likely due to an error when entering the reference number or exceeding your account limit.
You can still cancel your trip. Check out our cancellation policy or discover our Superflex bookingconditions valid until 01/02/2026.
We offer a fully planned 7-day road trip, so it’s not possible to change the trip duration or schedule. However, you’re free to extend your trip on your own, by spending extra days in Scotland afterward or traveling on to another country, for example.
Upon your arrival in Scotland, you will be warmly welcomed by our on-site rangers. They will greet you and provide a brief explanation before you begin your 7-day road trip.
During your journey, you will find all the useful information in our app. Additionally, just before your departure, you will have access to a WhatsApp group with all the participants leaving on the same date. In this group, you can communicate with each other, and someone from the team will also be available in case of emergency.
Some of our cars are manual, others are automatic. You can indicate your preference when booking, but the number of vehicles per type is limited. Since changes can always occur, we cannot guarantee 100% that you’ll get your preferred type. Therefore, it’s important that you are comfortable driving both types.
With the ultra-flexible booking option, you can move your trip within the same year based on availability, or cancel it for free (including flights) until 01/02/2026. This option is available for free for those who booked in the first few weeks.
You’ll be doing the road trip independently, without guides. At the basecamp, French-speaking coordinators are available to explain all the practical aspects (like how to set up the rooftop tent). During the trip, you can stay in touch with them via WhatsApp.
The trip is designed for two people. We do not recommend participating alone, as some stages can be long. Additionally, you will have to cover all rental costs, routes, campsites, and organization (price per person x2).
The duration of the road trip we offer is fixed. It’s not possible to adjust or customize it. Of course, you can extend your trip before or after the program on your own initiative.
No, it’s not possible to participate with your own car or camper. You’re booking an all-inclusive trip with us.
Pets are not allowed for practical and logistical reasons. Thank you for your understanding.
With the right gear, it’s no problem at all. You’ll receive quality camping equipment suited for Scotland's changing climate. However, it’s recommended to bring some extra warm clothing.
Yes, it's possible. If you book for 3 people, you'll get a discount of €250. If the third person is under 8 years old, they will sleep in the rooftop tent. For children over 8 or adults, an additional ground tent will be provided.
